To Hire an Identified Candidate
Two types:
1- An identified candidate can be hired at 40% or less for up to twelve months. Extension of appointments at 40% or less must be approved by HR at the time of completion.
2- An identified candidate can be hired at over 40% for a maximum of five months. No extension can be granted.
Benefits
- Earn no vacation, sick leave or holiday pay if the appointment is less than 50%.
- Earn vacation and sick leave if the appointment is 50% or higher for six months or more.
- Are eligible for
core benefits if the appointment is
between 43.75% and 100% and does not meet the
duration requirements of mid-level or
full-level benefits.
- Are eligible for
mid-level benefits if the appointment is 100% for three months or more.

1) Complete a Hiring Request Form and have it signed by both the supervisor and the fund manager. Please fax it over to Ling at (858)822-0014.
2)Develop a thorough Online Job Description(see How to Write a Job Description). Please specify the candidate's name in the JD form.
3) Have the candidate complete the Online UC San Diego Profile/Application form.
4) Background check forms

5) Additional Forms will be required for HX, NX, EX positions - Pre-Employment Forms

When central HR sends an email with final approval, notify the candidate.
