Resources for Underrepresented Trainees
The UC San Diego Department of Psychiatry is committed to promoting the inclusion and success of individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds in academic medicine. We strive to create an inclusive environment for trainees representing all aspects of diversity (race/ethnicity, disability, religion, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status), with a particular commitment to supporting the recruitment, retention, and advancement of trainees from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds.
As such, the department has formed the Recruiting, Retaining, and Elevating Black and Diverse Trainees subcommittee of the department's EDI Action Council. This committee strives to foster a supportive and inclusive climate for underrepresented trainees through advocacy, resource development, and sponsorship. This work is never finished, and we welcome the voices of all staff, trainees, and faculty within the department. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, or you are interested in joining the Recruiting, Retaining, and Elevating Black and Diverse Trainees subcommittee, you can use the feedback button below or email DOPdivTrainee@health.ucsd.edu
We recognize that UC San Diego was built on the unceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. We respect the land and its original people, and we acknowledge their contributions to the San Diego region
