Biography
Dr. Mounir Soliman is the Clinical Service Chief of the Department of Psychiatry. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his psychiatric residency at UCSD and joined the faculty in 1998. He also serves as the medical director of the UCSD Psychopharmacology Research Initiatives Center of Excellence (PRICE) and the Community Research Foundation. Dr. Soliman is interested in clinical research, teaching and medical administration.
Research Focus
Dr. Soliman is focused on a variety of research projects,
mainly clinical psychopharmacology for schizophrenia and mood
disorder. He serves as the primary PI on several clinical
trials.
Clinical Focus
Dr. Soliman’s practice is dedicated to the underserved
population at the Community Research Foundation and direct
patient care at the VA and UCSD outpatient. He is also the
medical consultant for the UCSD Physician Assessment and
Clinical Education (PACE).
