The Department of Psychiatry recruits 9 PGY1 through the National Resident Match Program. Information on the Match can be obtained at the their web site www.nrmp.org.

UCSD participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Information for ERAS can be obtained at their web site www.aamc.org/eras. The deadline for applications is December 1st, and the following requirements are requested for all applications:

• Application
• C.V. / Resume
• Personal Statement (1 page)
• 3 Letters of Recommendation
• USMLE Step 1 & 2
• Medical School Transcripts
• Deans Letter
• International Medical Graduates must also include:
  1. ECFMG Certificate
  2. California Medical Board Status Letter

If transferring from another program

• A letter of recommendation from your Training Director stating the rotations you have completed is required.
• Report of Internship or Residency (for PGY2 or higher)
