Department of Psychiatry Residency Programs
Community Psychiatry
This specialized track trains providers to address the mental health needs of the community and the public sector. In the course of the program, residents receive training at rotation sites that treat underserved communities.
Psychiatry Research Residency Track
Our NIMH R25-funded Psychiatry Research Residency Track aspires to educate future Academic Psychiatrists, and to help nurture their early academic careers by building important skills in research, clinical care, teaching and mental health advocacy. We have the unique advantages of being a small and individualized program (1–3 trainees per year), supported by the remarkable clinical and scientific resources within UC San Diego and its affiliated Neuroscience community.
Combined Family Medicine & Psychiatry
This program brings the best of the academic medicine into a community medicine setting, while nurturing residents’ compassion and caring to make a fundamental difference in the lives of the most underserved among us.
