Due to initial COVID-19 related travel restrictions, we recognize that traditional interview visits were no longer feasible. We have continued accepting applications and conducting interviews remotely indefinitely to maintain applicant equity. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your interest in our program. The UC San Diego School of Medicine Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship is an ACGME accredited one-year program that provides advanced post-residency training in geriatric psychiatry. 

Deadline

Applications to the UCSD Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship are accepted beginning spring of the year prior to which admission is being sought.   

Requirements

Applicants must successfully complete an ACGME accredited general psychiatry residency prior to matriculation.  

Applicants must be eligible for licensure by State of California and hold a valid California Medical License by July 1 of their fellowship year.

How to Apply

To apply, candidates are required to submit:

  • CV
  • A one-page personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation (one of which must be from their Program Director). *Letters of recommendation should be submitted directly to the our program
  • Completed UCSD Post-Graduate Medical Training Application
  • Copy of medical school transcript

Offer Policy

As per UC San Diego Division of Geriatric Psychiatry Policy, applicants will be granted 20 business days to accept or decline any offer of fellowship acceptance.

However, this policy is subject to change according to applicant volume and onboarding timeline.
